Steve Morantz

Steve Morantz (born August 23, 1969) is an American production sound mixer. Born in Los Angeles, California, Morantz became widely known in television through his sustained work on network and cable series, including Parks and Recreation (2009-2014), where he served as production sound mixer for 100 episodes. His sound mixing on the series earned multiple industry nominations, including Primetime Emmy Award nominations for episodes such as "Fancy Party" (2011), "End of the World" (2012), and "Leslie and Ben" (2013), as well as Cinema Audio Society nominations in 2014 and 2015.

Earlier in his career, he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Sound Mixing for Entourage (2004), for the episode "One Day in the Valley," sharing the honour with fellow mixers Dennis Kirk and Mark D. Fleming. His television credits also include substantial runs on series such as Samantha Who? (2007-2009), Just Add Magic (2015-2019), I'm Sorry (2017-2019), Mayans M.

C. (2018), Dead to Me (2019-2023), and The Sex Lives of College Girls (2021-2025). His work on Dead to Me (2019-2022) earned a Cinema Audio Society nomination in 2021 for the episode "You Know What You Did" (2020). In addition to episodic television, Morantz has contributed to high-profile limited series and streaming projects, including The Dropout (2022) and Wonder Man (2026).

His feature film work includes credits on Garden State (2004), Molly's Game (2017), The House (2017), and The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021), where he handled production sound mixing for additional photography. He has also worked on comedies such as Get Hard (2015) and Vacation (2015), often serving as production sound mixer for Los Angeles–based units.
