Plot Summary
Antonia Brico could have had a successful career as a concert pianist, but in the 1930s, the Dutch-born musician broke new ground for women in classical music, becoming the first female conductor of the New York Philharmonic and wielding the baton before prestigious symphony orchestras across the United States and Europe. One of Brico's former piano students, folk singer Judy Collins, co-directed this intimate documentary about the groundbreaking classical conductor.
