Plot Summary

Aspiring novelist Jonathan Briggs (John Shelton) tries to repay a loan from his kindly uncle (Reginald Owen) by breaking into the pulp fiction market. A struggling magazine published by Phil Hendricks (Albert Dekker) prints Jonathan's stories at the urging of Hendricks' beautiful secretary, Margie Blake (Virginia Grey), under the byline of inebriated star writer Dusty King (Donald Meek). As Jonathan and Margie fight for his artistic integrity, Hendricks plots to steal his novel.
