Plot Summary

Bill Appleton (John Litel) has killed a man, and now he's in prison. His wife, actress Eve Appleton (Kay Francis), understands that she's now the family's breadwinner, so she leaves her baby with a pal and heads to New York to make it on the stage. After a stint as a burlesque dancer, Eve becomes a successful show business commodity overseas. As her career surges, she falls for producer Bert Ballin (Ian Hunter), but she feels responsible for getting her husband sprung from prison.
