Plot Summary

A group of prisoners is performing forced labor for the Nazis in France when their position is hit by an Allied bombing raid. Finding themselves surrounded with food and wine, Frenchman Rouquet (Peter Sellers), Italian Visconti (Charles Aznavour), Swede Lund (Per Oscarsson) and the others optimistically wait for rescue. But the hours turn into days, then weeks, then years.
