Plot Summary
Joe Brewster (Paul Douglas) is a shifty con man on the run in Rome. Taking on the guise of visiting priest Father John X. Halligan (Van Johnson) to elude the authorities, Joe is later found by the clergyman himself, who takes the troubled criminal on a tour of the city's religious sites. Forming an unlikely bond, Father John and Joe end up at a monastery, a place that has surprising resonance for the felon. Will Joe's time with Father John convince the convict to change his criminal ways?
