Ben Affleck just showed his superhero side in a Facebook post announcing a major personal step forward. He thanked his "co-parent Jen" Garner for supporting him and taking care of their three children as he sought treatment for alcohol addiction. This is a life-long battle, but he just completed a new stint at rehab and shared the story publicly:

Seriously. Be proud, man.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner seem to be on the way up. It was recently reported that Garner called off their plans to divorce. A source told People, "Ben is making a big effort to take care of himself. They are not back together, but there seems to be hope."

Affleck just proved that big effort by sharing this news publicly. He didn't have to do that, but he is showing his fans, his wife, his kids, his friends, and even his critics that he is strong enough to know when he needs to get help, and to be of help to others who need support. He's made a lot of good movies, and maybe a few not-so-good ones, but this could be one of the most important things he ever does.

According to TMZ, Affleck went to a facility almost immediately after the Oscars on Feb. 26. This is not his first time in rehab; he was at Promises in Malibu in 2001, also for alcohol abuse. Sources told Entertainment Weekly that Affleck's latest trip to rehab did not affect his involvement in "The Batman." Affleck dropped out as director, and it was recently announced that Matt Reeves had taken over.

Just take it one day at a time, Batfleck!
