Emma Watson Shares First Cast Photo From Greta Gerwig's 'Little Women'
Greta Gerwig's upcoming adaptation of classic novel "Little Women" has some serious star power, and one of its biggest names just shared a first look at the titular cast in action.
Emma Watson, who plays eldest sister Meg March in the flick, offered fans a behind the scenes glimpse of the new take on the beloved book. And just like the women depicted on screen, it appears that this bunch is extremely close.
In the photo, Watson, writer-director Gerwig, Saoirse Ronan (Jo March), Florence Pugh (Amy March), Eliza Scanlen (Beth March), and Timothee Chalamet (Theodore "Laurie" Laurence) are all smiles. It appears that this picture was snapped during the filming of the scene where the sisters act out one of Jo's plays, and the playful vibe captured seems to suggest that the film will also share that spirit.
Watson's own words reinforce that notion, as she captioned the snap with a famous line from Lousia May Alcott's book: “I could never love anyone as I love my sisters.”
Based on the A-list cast alone, audiences will surely love this adaptation, too. The rest of the starry ensemble includes Meryl Streep (Aunt March), Laura Dern (Marmee), Bob Odenkirk, and Chris Cooper.
"Little Women" is set to open on December 25, 2019.
