The new "Powerpuff Girls" are here, and while they don't look much different from their predecessors, they'll have a new sound.

Cartoon Network has unveiled the first image from the rebooted series, and also announced who would be voicing the titular trio of pint-sized superheroes: Amanda Leighton will play Blossom, Kristen Li will play Bubbles, and Natalie Palamides will play Buttercup. Tom Kenny, who played the Narrator/Mayor in the first series, will reprise his role on the new show.

The creative team behind the reimagined "Powerpuff" includes "Adventure Time" vet Nick Jennings, and the network noted that many of the artists and writers behind the new version grew up watching the original, which ran on CN for 78 episodes starting in 1998. A standalone movie, "The Powerpuff Girls: Dance Pantsed," aired on Cartoon Network in 2014.

"It has been wonderful to see this new show team bring such passion and positive creative spirit to this iconic property," said Rober Sorcher, Chief Content Officer at Cartoon Network, in a statement. "We know that fans of every age will appreciate this new take on saving the world before bedtime."

"The Powerpuff Girls" is slated to return to airwaves sometime in 2016. Check out the full first photo below.
