The cable network renewed the relationship comedy for a fifth and final season. The Season 4 finale (two episodes) airs tonight at 10 p.m. on FXX.

"Making 'You're The Worst' has been an incredible experience and FX Networks have been dream partners," said creator Stephen Falk in a statement. "I am thankful to have the opportunity to be thoroughly judged whether or not we 'stick the landing' — which is a thing people say now that stupid 'Breaking Bad' had to end so damn perfectly."

"Stephen's singular vision for the series has been its guiding force from the start and our decision, while difficult, will allow the series to end on its own terms and in a way most satisfying to its devoted fans," said FX Networks programming chief Nick Grad.

The often dark and biting comedy followed narcissistic, snobby writer Jimmy (Chris Geere) and selfish, self-destructive publicist Gretchen (Aya Cash) through their rollercoaster relationship. They dealt with each other's often-terrible behavior, Gretchen's clinical depression, and Jimmy running away after proposing marriage. Along for the ride were friends Edgar (Desmin Borges) and Lindsay (Kether Donohue), equally damaged in their own ways.

The final season of "You're the Worst" is likely to air in the latter half of 2018.
