'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' Casts Pom Klementieff in Key Role
There hasn't been much news yet about the plot for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" (other than its awesome title choice), but now, news has broken that the flick just cast someone in a mysterious new role.
The Hollywood Reporter writes that actress Pom Klementieff has nabbed what the trade describes as "one of the new key roles" in the follow-up, though of course, just what Klementieff's part will entail was not divulged. According to THR, "Marvel conducted a wide search for its mystery part, which called for an Asian actress, and did several rounds of chemistry reads."
Klementieff is a relative unknown to American audiences, landing her first English-language role in Spike Lee's "Oldboy" remake back in 2013. The Quebec native and France resident has previously appeared in a number of French-speaking films.
Just how she'll factor in with the rest of the ensemble is yet to be determined, but we're excited to see her (hopefully) interact with returning "Guardians of the Galaxy" stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, and Bradley Cooper.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" is due in theaters on May 5, 2017.
