Plot Summary

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel's “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious
orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy's fate in the balance.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy does the impossible. Through dazzle and dumb luck, it turns the clichés of comic-book films on their idiot heads and hits you like an exhilarating blast of fun-fun-fun. It's insanely, shamelessly silly – just one reason to love it. show more

  • Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty much where action movies are these days - a combination of comedy without wit, action without drama and elaborate visuals that are nothing much to look at. show more

  • With its introduction of wonderfully memorable characters and blend of humor, action and catchy tunes, Guardians is perfectly pitched escapist fun. show more

As I read the negative reviews, I am amazed..Yes, another action-adventure movie..But a unique hero..I absolutely loved it..The humor was at a different level than most..I loved the characters..I loved the music..I saw it twice at the theatre, which I never do.. For those "haters", look at the box office stats..I think they say it all..

It's really nothing that separates this movie from others, the plot line is basic, they use comedy in unneeded situations, etc. It's touche seeing this movie because it's so similar to other super hero movies, to be successful in the movie business you just need a good CGI coordinator, but that topic is for another day. Marvel released this movie basically to introduce the crowd to the Guardians but they had to do it in 2 hours so alot of time was wasted with them fighting the same person, being in prison etc. I don't understand why this movie gets so much praise, Americans will pay to watch the same thing over and over. They released it so the audience would know who they are in the Avengers 3(although they didn't release an Ant Man movie yet and him not having a background in A MOVIE ABOUT ULTRON defies the comics) because if they stick to the comics (SPOILER)the Guardians should fight with the Avengers to stop Thanos when he gets the gems. But overall it gets a 6/10, because it's Deja Vu
