Kate Winslet isn't moaning about turning another year older. Instead, the Oscar winner is embracing turning 40 years old.

"It really feels fantastic actually," she tells Ellen DeGeneres on the comedienne's talk show on Monday. The "Steve Jobs" actress celebrated her birthday on Oct. 5.

"I mean I have to say I was gearing up to it," she continues. "I was getting ready for it. And I feel like I've earned these 40 stripes. Ya know. I've made it. Does anyone else have that feeling? When you get to 40 and you're like yes I'm there! I really do have that feeling so yeah it's lovely."

Winslet's currently promoting her role as Joanna Hoffman, an Apple development team employee, opposite Michael Fassbender as the titular "Steve Jobs."

“Steve Jobs” chronicles the tech visionary's life – achievements, setbacks and tantrums – over the span of three of Apple’s product launches in 1984, 1988 and 1998. Directed by “Slumdog Millionaire” Oscar winner Danny Boyle, the drama also features Seth Rogen as cofounder Steve Wozniak.
