Michael B. Jordan is killing it, on screen and off.

The "Black Panther" and "Creed II" star has signed on to produce and star in "The Silver Bear," an assassination thriller based on the book series by Derek Haas ("Wanted," "3:10 to Yuma").

The story centers on a man named Columbus who becomes the most feared and respected hit man in the criminal underworld. When he learns his next job is to assassinate presidential candidate Abe Mann, Columbus is troubled by his connection to Mann. He soon realizes he's also being set up for a fall.

Haas has written four follow-up novels — "Columbus," "Dark Men," "A Different Lie" and "The Way I Die" — so this could conceivably turn into a franchise for Lionsgate."

Jordan has upped his game when it comes to producing; he's producing his next two movies, "Creed II" and "Mercy." His Outlier Society banner is also developing "gen:LOCK," "Raising Dion," and "David Makes a Man."
