LAIKA, the animation studio behind "Coraline," "The Boxtrolls," and "Kubo and the Two Strings" is sending another animated masterpiece into the world.

The trailer for "Missing Link" shows the studio's wizard touch once again. The movie centers on a Bigfoot-type creature named Mr. Link (voiced by Zach Galifianakis) who recruits a fearless explorer (Hugh Jackman) to help him find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight (Zoe Saldana), they encounter their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world.

The movie is written and directed by Chris Butler, who previously made the terrific "ParaNorman." It's got all the hallmarks of a LAIKA film — gentle humor, but also deeper emotional shadings.

"Missing Link" opens in theaters April 12.
