Wow, the A-listers are really coming out for "Fair and Balanced."

According to Variety, Nicole Kidman is in talks to play former Fox News anchor Gretchen Carlson in the movie about fallen Fox News Chief Roger Ailes.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Margot Robbie is also in talks for the film; she will play a fictional Fox News associate producer named Kayla Pospisil.

Charlize Theron is already on board to play former Fox News host Megyn Kelly.

Deadline quoted the film's logline, which emphasizes that the story is more about the women of Fox News than a strict Roger Ailes biopic:

"The film will tell the story of the ensemble of women who took on the toxic male culture of Fox News and helped depose its chief architect."

Here's a Kidman, 51/Carlson, 52 comparison:

Now that we have two Oscar winners and an Oscar nominee on board, you have to imagine this is gearing up to be an awards contender.

So we're doubly curious to see who'll be cast next as, say, Bill O'Reilly, Greta Van Susteren, Sean Hannity, Rupert Murdoch, etc. We also need to know who'll play Roger Ailes himself.

Roger Ailes resigned from Fox News in July 2016 after several allegations of sexual misconduct, including from both Carlson and Kelly. Ailes died at age 77 in May 2017.

Charles Randolph ("The Big Short") is writing the movie script, which will be directed by Jay Roach ("Trumbo").
