"Once Upon a Time" Season 6 is making our heads spin and hearts hurt, and it's just getting started. This Sunday, December 4 marks the winter finale -- aka the last episode of 2016 -- and we already know "Wish You Were Here" is meant to share answers on Emma's (Jennifer Morrison) mysterious hooded killer. However, one of the showrunners is suggesting fans -- especially fans of Emma and Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) -- look past Episode 10 and look forward to what sounds like a (semi?) bright future.

Here's TVLine's latest scoop on that subject, in answer to a fan's Captain Swan query:

I'm bummed about the Once Upon a Time winter finale (airing this Sunday), because it looks like Emma and Hook won't be together in the fairytale world. Got any good CaptainSwan scoop? —Alison

"Whether Emma and Hook are together in the winter finale isn't the question to be asking," responds co-creator Adam Horowitz. "The real question to ask is: Will the two of them be embarking on an epic adventure filled with romance, danger and passion in the second half of the season? And the answer is... yes."

Yes! Sounds good. Also sounds like Emma is still alive/around into 6B, which we kinda figured, but it's a welcome tease anyway.

Back to the winter finale, though. Here's ABC's synopsis:

"Wish You Were Here" - When she learns that our heroes possess a weapon capable of defeating her, the Evil Queen steals Aladdin's magic lamp from Jasmine and makes a wish that could sideline the Savior forever. Unwilling to wake Snow while Emma is missing, David works with Hook and Henry to hold the Evil Queen at bay in Storybrooke, as Regina goes on a rogue rescue mission. Meanwhile, Gold and Belle face a surprising danger to their newborn son.

Can't even deal with more Rumbelle drama at the moment, so let's skip that. The other bossman, Edward Kitsis, told Entertainment Weekly more about that wish -- for Emma to have never become the Savior. "One thing that people have always wondered is what would happen if the curse was never enacted and Emma grew up in a fairy tale, and that's what we're going to show."

Here's a sneak peek of the Evil Queen's granted wish:And here's a tease of Emma growing up in the fairy tale world:We're curious to see more of that.

But there's still no avoiding the prophecy. "Emma is fated to die and that is the destiny that we learned all Saviors face," Kitsis added to EW. That is going to be coming to a head — it is going to resonate in the finale and it will definitely come to a head in the next half of the season when we return."

OK, but at least we know the second half will also feature romance, passion, and (less cool) danger for "the two of them," meaning Emma and Hook. And, of course, Robin Hood is meant to return for a multi-episode arc, so there's a lot to look forward to once we get through the winter break.

"Once Upon a Time" airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
