When the Oscar nominations came out on Tuesday, many fans were surprised that "Wonder Woman" didn't get a single nomination.

Before you go on a rant, we're not talking Best Picture here, or even Best Director. But what about Costume Design, Sound Editing/Mixing, Production Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, etc.? It was one of the top-grossing films of 2017 -- along with "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" and "Beauty and the Beast" -- and yet they got Oscar nods and "Wonder Woman" did not.

"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," "War for the Planet of the Apes," "Blade Runner 2049," "Kong: Skull Island," "Baby Driver" -- they all got nods this year. Heck, even "The Boss Baby" got a nomination. And last year, DC's "Suicide Squad" was not only nominated for Best Makeup and Hairstyling, it won.

But while some fans cried "snubbed" for "Wonder Woman," star Gal Gadot told Entertainment Tonight she was just happy to see that they cared:

"I was very moved and touched by the people who were disappointed that 'Wonder Woman' wasn't nominated, but we certainly never did the movie for that. I think that you can't have it all. We've done this movie and it was received in such an amazing, wonderful way, and we want to stay humble and grateful, and we're going to have another movie, so who knows? Maybe the next one!"

That's why she's Wonder Woman -- she always knows the right thing to say.

"Wonder Woman 2," directed again by Patty Jenkins, is currently scheduled for release November 1st, 2019. The 2018 Academy Awards will be handed out on Sunday, March 4 on ABC.
