Just days before "Pet Sematary" premieres at the 2019 SXSW Film Festival, Paramount Pictures has released a new teaser. And yes, it's a creepy one.

The upcoming horror flick is based on Stephen King's 1983 novel of the same name, and the video shows it aims to be just as scary. Directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch offer commentary in the teaser, and they allude to "the master of horror" and trying to make "a truly terrifying movie." Based on what we've seen so far, they'll take us on the "wild trip" they promise.

The video has enough film footage to provide a general outline of the plot: Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke) and his family move to a rural town, where he discovers an out-of-the-ordinary burial ground. When tragedy strikes, he makes a decision that has unintended -- and horrifying -- consequences. Watch below.

The film also stars John Lithgow and Amy Seimetz. "Pet Sematary" hits theaters April 5.
