Rest in Peace Charlotte Rae: 'The Facts of Life' Stars Pay Tribute
Rae originated the role of Edna Garrett in "Diff'rent Strokes" and then got her own "The Facts of Life" spinoff.
Charlotte Rae taught millions of fans "The Facts of Life" from 1979 to 1988. The NBC sitcom followed Charlotte as Edna Garrett, housemother at an all-girls boarding school.
Sadly, we lost Rae Sunday when she died at her home in Los Angeles. She was 92. She had revealed she had bone cancer in April 2017.
Rae originated the role of Edna Garrett in "Diff'rent Strokes" and then got her own "The Facts of Life" spinoff. She was nominated for an Emmy in 1982 for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

Charlotte Rae also had roles across television in shows from "ER" and "The King of Queens" to "Pretty Little Liars" and "Girl Meets World." Her memoir, "The Facts of My Life," was released in 2015.
A reboot of "The Facts of Life" was just announced a few days ago.
