Don't tell Marvel, but it looks like "Deadpool 2" star Zazie Beetz isn't necessarily the biggest comic book aficionado.

The actress was a guest on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Wednesday, and the late-night host got a confession out of her that she looked a little guilty about. Kimmel started by asking her if she saw the original Ryan Reynolds-starring superhero flick, and she was able to say that she had. However, when he followed up by asking her if she saw "Deadpool" before getting involved with its sequel, Beetz had to admit she had not.

"Did you see it before you know you were going to be involved in the sequel?" Kimmel asked.

"No," Beetz told him in a whispering and with a hand covering her mouth.

Kimmel didn't harp too much on her revelation, but he did joke that he'd have asked her at casting and taken her out of the running for the part. Fans will hopefully move past her revelation as quickly, too. From what we've see of Beetz in "Deadpool 2" so far, it looks like a good thing that Kimmel didn't keep her from getting the role.

"Deadpool 2" hits theaters May 18; "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
