In my opinion of the movie âA Separate Peaceâ I liked how the emotion of the rivalry between Gene and Finny was really shown through their actions and facial expressions because in a book you can ... only imagine how they feel and not really see what theyâre going through. The main plot of the story is well thought out but having such hate and jealousy for a person that gets to be called a best friend to have die in the movie to gain the inner peace of himself is just semi-sickening. I understand how envy can destroy a friendship but not actually kill someone, although this story is a good way to have a life lesson it may just be a little to intense. Books are always more tentative to the small details such as whatâs going through the characters mind and in movies the viewers canât see whatâs going through the actors mind and can only be read by the facial expressions. In the 1972 version of âA Separate Peaceâ the actors were good at keeping their roles but they shouldâve shown more depth into portraying their characters and really feel the emotion of their role.
