i rather enjoyed this movie...it was easy going and funny..not too realistic and reminiscent of Saturday Night Fever (a little bit such as "Dont touch the hair" lines)...im a big fan of Alec Baldwin's so his portrayal of a tough guy/killer is wonderful...this movie was like an easy reader book at night...very predictable but fun to watch nonetheless...i give it a 7 out of 10

Baldwin is so good in the coming-of-age gangster drama Brooklyn Rules that it's like watching a voodoo priest. Full Review

Michael Corrente's Brooklyn Rules takes him to the mean streets of Gotti country, circa 1985, and it's another gem. Full Review

A sometimes funny, occasionally maudlin coming-of-age dramedy that wants to be "Goodfellas" but might have been called "Mild in the Streets." Full Review

Not as bad as Bobby's mother's lasagna, neither is Brooklyn Rules anywhere near the best you've ever had, though at times, it may remind you of it. Full Review
