Director Stephan Elliott uncorks a rare vintage of laughs tinged with heartache. show more

It's a pleasure to watch such top-notch actors deliver Coward's sparkling wit. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

Full of forced jocularity and drawing-room hissy fits, with its cast parading around in vintage threads and antique cars, Easy Virtue is a close-to-insufferable souffle based on the 1925 Noel Coward play. show more

We could all use a little more Noel Coward in our lives. But the fizz falls flat in Stephan Elliot's adaptation of a lesser-known play, which, while blithe enough, has little spirit to speak of. show more

Jessica Biel has great fun with the American adventuress, while Kristin Scott Thomas is truly scary as her nemesis and mother-in-law. show more

The upside of a Coward-powered letdown is that I had plenty of time to contemplate one particularly improbable fact about Easy Virtue: that it had a previous incarnation on film. As, of all things, a silent picture. show more

The dialogue has an edgy wit, although it has no ambitions to be falling-down funny. Here is the Odd Couple formula applied in a specific time and place that make them feel very odd indeed. show more

Sure, there's a plot, but it's a secondary element to the lines the actors deliver. Only Oscar Wilde has the same bite. Fortunately, Elliott understands this, which makes Easy Virtue go down smoothly. show more

Anything but light on its feet. It lumbers instead of dazzles, drags where it should feint and jab. show more

A wonderful film. A way of life we don\'t see any more. Whitty diialog, great music, and classic performances.

What a bore-a-thon!!!! And I love Atonement/Brideshead Revisited films all day long, But this one goes nowhere and the jokes are not funny. We asked for our money back and got it at our theatre in Richmond, Va. Good luck. A snoozer.

Really enjoyable movie..good script (Noel Coward) and excellent acting by Biel, Firth ,Thomas and the rest of the cast. Very pleasantly surprised at how well Jessica Biel portrayed her character. .

Kristin Scott Thomas and Ben Barnes performed quite well, however the film fails in nearly every aspect. The few attempts at comedy fall flat and the story goes absolutely nowhere. Mind you, there are many points which it could have become interesting, but again the writer has chosen absolute pointlessness.

Enter loud mouth d-in-law, that kills your dog, hides the fact you bury it, changes out your pictures to put one of yourself a nude in the living room, and at the end runs off with your husband. Yes the m-in-law was controlling and quite rude to the girl, the d-in-law was quite beautiful and fun loving, funny and charming.....but when the husband runs off with his sons wife at the end and she lets him get into her car, she turned into nothing more than "The Ugly American" to me and and redeeming qualities she had were lost in the ick of it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I disagree with all these reviews. I found this movie just boring and uninteresting. Not at all what I expected
