This was the most boring movie I have ever seen. I would not waste my time if I were you. BORING....
Garlin is unquestionably a comedian's comedian and a comedian to anyone looking for a good time. His first film, which is entirely of his own creation and production, tells a simple story about a str... uggling Chicago actor James Aaron with whom Jeff obviously identifies. He wonderfully juxtaposes James to "Marty" and the great Jackie Gleason as he exposes James' dilemmas in scenes with an array of actors that in real life are Jeff's friends. He wonderfully utilizes Sarah Silverman's diametrical cuteness and scathingly absurd humor to exemplify how despite using passion and common sense life's contentment can too often belie unyielding frustration. Bonnie Hunt gives an endearing performance as a romantic interest that you would think is perfect.Don't let the simple story mislead you, the conflicts and characters are well thought out and true. Those that follow Garlin's career and understand his humor is based on telling reality humorously, not creating fiction that too easily can be contrived to be funny, will appreciate the dialogue driven plot. I bet we see Garlin working much more as director and writer with other intelligent talented comedic actors who undertake the great challenge of making life funny. Full Review
