A simple movie about a complex man of few words and his life in the Rockies wilderness around 1840-1850 time period. Excellent scenery and a movie that allows you to decide what life was really like in the time period portrayed.

fantastic movie enjoyed by any outdoorsman. rober redford has been a favorite actor of mine for a long time. a must see for anyone who enjoys the outdoors no matter what !
