Slow Burn is the story of a D.A. played by Ray Liotta who wants to run for mayor of a large city. He has tried for years to catch a black crime lord, Danny Luden. A rape victim who murdered her assailant is brought in. He is astonished to see she is Nora Timmer, a prosecutor in his own office. She is a very sexy woman who is half black, half white, but could pass for Greek or Italian. She is unsure where she belongs. There are many sex scenes. She has afnaffair with Liotta and many others. The movie contains numerous well-handled flashbacks and forwards, many surprises, and many double crosses. Camera angles are good. At the end Nora has outwitted them all; she caused Danny to get caught and she has fled to the Cayman Islands with all the money. I am an average woman, not a professional critic and I tend to be kind in my evaluations. True, it is an old plot and certain characters act typically with little depth, but where others might call it a run of the mill police procedural full of cliches, I call it a passable evening\'s entertainment. Two stars of five. -- Louise in Michigan
