Making a list of anticipated movies for the upcoming year is a popular thing to do this time of year. (You can check out Moviefone's current team coverage here.) In fact, I was going to make one as well, because (A) lists are fun and (B) looking forward...
What a mixed bag of releases we have this week. First off there's a kinda-sports comedy, 'Win-Win,' revolving around a struggling attorney who coaches the local high school wrestling team and figures out a slightly illegal way to boost his sagging...
Remember last year when those Mel Gibson tapes were released and everyone thought his career was finished? Well, it looks like the filmmaker may be making a comeback. Although his last film, 'The Beaver,' earned him critical praise, it did poorly at the...

A Jody Foster film with Mel Gibson? This movie would have been number 1 at the box office had more theatres released it for people everywhere to see. Because of the controversy surrounding Mel Gibson... \'s personal life, not a lot of people got the chance to see it. This was an amazing movie with acting so fantastic that I watched it twice! Message to Hollywood: At Oscar time, set aside your feelings of Mel Gibson as a person and see him as the incredible actor he really is. He and Jody deserve Oscars! You will love this movie! Mel Gibson may be given an opportunity to show the world the kind of actor he is which was extraordinary in this movie. He captured the real world of those who go through depression and struggle to m... ove towards the other side of the agony. Not since \"What Dreams May Come\" with Robin Williams have I wittness such perfect characterization of the emotional pain and struggle that the human goes through during the bleak times. This movie is dark and filled with moments of humor that keeps the viewer from walking out. Jody Foster\'s role was perfectly played as a wife who was in termoil living through her husband\'s darkness and doing the best she could. Her presentation of character was near perfect, but the script failed in places to provide the audience the whole character of the wife. The oldest son was played perfectly. The parallels between the father and son were, at times over played but as the son finds his own life spirally out of control the audience could look back at that forshadowing piece of script which allowed us to think it could happen in any family. The younger son was perfectly presented with enough character from a 9 year old to understand the questions, the fear, and the way a child often deals with loss initally. The work of the cast brings me to the conclusion that Jody Foster mastered this movie with great acting and a script that may have been better if it had greater depth in Foster\'s character. This is a delicate subject for those of us who have worked through depression. Five stars are merited on the acting, the script would only get 4 stars. Gibson and Foster work well together and hopefully they will continue to collaborate in great film opportunities that deal with subjects many would never be able to portray and most would never succeed.
