I didn't see this movie in the theater in part because I can take or leave the Farrelly brothers. However, I just rented it from Netflix as I'm recovering from surgery and am housebound. This movie ... was terrible. I hated it. It depressed me. There were one or two funny moments, but overall, it is a bleak look at marriage, love and even life. Don't waste your time. Full Review

I picked the movie because it was a "comedy"? This movie is about the worst I have seen. Too graphic, too much bad language, too little humor. On a 1 - 5 rating I give it a 0. After the first 5 mi... nutes I was wondering if I wanted to watch it. I think that will be my marker for all movies from now on. If it cannot make a good impression on me after 5 then why waste 113 more minutes. Tasteless, tacky, trivial. Who needs to see so much bad expression of what and why people get married. If the younger audience gets there clues from movies then we are creating a clueless generation. Full Review

I walked out. I can't imagine how bad the ending must have been, because the rest of it was so bad. Save your money.

The Heartbreak Kid is a comedy about a man named Eddie in his mid-forties who has never been married, and is having a hard time finding true love. He seems to always be on the losing end of the spectr... um with nothing to call his own except a sporting goods store. His luck magically changes when he runs into a beautiful girl named Lila in the streets of California, as he tries to stop a thief who has stolen her purse. In just weeks they fall in love. They are forced into a quick marriage so that Lila does not have to move to another country for her job. Eddie soon finds out on his honeymoon that Lila is not the one he was meant to marry. Many of her dark secrets and annoying habits come to surface. On the honeymoon, Eddie meets Miranda, a down-to-earth woman who is visiting with her family. Eddie realizes that Miranda is really the one he is meant to be with. The story escalates into a series of lies and laughs as Eddie struggles to do the right thing. The Heartbreak Kid was directed by Bobby Farrelly. He was born in Rhode Island in 1958, and he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He has directed many movies including: Dumb and Dumber, There's Something About Mary, and Me, Myself, and Irene. He has won three awards, and is quite famous as a comedic director. This movie was very disappointing to me. It was long and drawn out, never seeming to come to an end. After a while the plot became thin and the movie only got even more stupid. The only funny moments are those that are seen in the previews. There was no character that seemed to have realistic qualities that anyone could identify with or relate to. The movie, while hilarious in some scenes, turns to chaos, and the audience loses sight of whom they are rooting for. At the end of the movie, when some satisfaction is expected, it is not gained. There is no character change or growth in the Full Review

i saw this movie the other night, expecting it to be funny, and a great romantic comedy-accoring to the trailers it didn't look that bad. Also, Ben Stiller was in it and i had always liekd ben stille... rs movies-they were funny. However once the movie ended i was in shock-it was a dispicable movie that could have damaged and twisted anyones thought process. the movies' comedy was a joke-resorting to making jokes about mexicans and sexual prefrences as well. this movie is like a slap in the face of the hollywood industry and it shows what they resort to, to make movies now..this movie shouldn't have been made. I laughed because i felt emmbarrased for "eddie" (ben stillers character) however it was just so unrealistic and gross...and the girl that he liked "miranda" wasn't even that likable for we didn't even have an insight to her personality. I just want to say to all those people who didn't watch it please don't or you will have to go to therapy. I hope that the next movie ben stiller is in will be better than this one... and i hope that there won't be any more movies made that are like this. Full Review
