  • Vikander, the sexbot in "Ex Machina," is having a hell of a year. And you can see why. Gaby isn't much of a part, but Vikander makes her a live wire. Her impromptu dance with Kuryakin that ends in a wrestling match is, well, something to see. show more

  • Ritchie is a director with no instinct for the audience, and he can’t hold things together for an entire film. He seems at a loss, from moment to moment, as to what he should emphasize. show more

  • A lot of energy and effort has gone into this endeavor, and I can't say some of it's not fun. But more of it, alas, is just tedious. Say uncle already. show more

Four stars****. If you grew up in the late 60s and didn't get the high school dance on Friday night, then "THE MAN FROM UNCLE" was a must. Robert Vaughn, David McCallum & Leo G. Carroll as Solo, Kuryakin & Mr. Waverly were the best spy show on TV since Secret Agent Man. Nostalgic with a modern twist. The interplay of the 3 leads was excellent. I sincerely hope in a couple of years the roles are reprised with a follow-up movie. A lot of killing put no gory violence which carried on the theme of the TV show. Well done Mr. Ritchie.
