Went to see this movie only because a friend of mine was in it. I believe she said she was in four walk on scenes. I never saw her, I was so totally engrossed in the movie. From the very beginning to the unexpected ending I couldn't do anything but follow what the actors were doing. She even pointed out the scenes she was in to our group. I didn't notice. At first, I was reminded of Fargo also
I saw this movie 2 times and the first time it was so entertaining and extremly funny not a boring part in this movie just fun all the way through ....Good acting also by everybody especially greg kinnear and billy Crudup...... A must see movie
Wha happened?????????? A very good movie with a plot that had all the right twists and turns at the end, suddenly disappeared from the theatres. Maybe a re-release is coming.
Absolutely brilliant..in the tone of Fargo and other movies of what can go wrong..loved it

Thin Ice itself, while not entirely unpleasant, is gnawingly familiar, a slice of room-temperature heartland quirk that tries to blend low-key comedy with violence and mayhem. Full Review

If you can get past the rough patches - a slightly sluggish start and a coda that feels like one punch line too many - there is some sinister fun to be had in watching Kinnear skating toward disaster on ice that is very thin indeed. Full Review

It's an entertaining film and a deceptively gritty thriller, and Kinnear conveys Mickey's mounting desperation in winning fashion. Full Review

So with a wink, a nudge and a heaping portion of Midwestern charm, Thin Ice reels us in. Comparisons to "Fargo" and other convoluted little capers like "House of Games" are fair, but when taken on its own terms, this quirky drama thrums along in a low-blood-pressure way. Full Review

Thin Ice resides just slightly south of "Fargo." Full Review
