Michael Fassbender Takes the Throne in New 'Macbeth' Trailer
Fair is foul, and foul is fair in the new trailer in the latest retelling of Shakespeare's "Macbeth."
Michael Fassbender takes on the lead role in The Scottish Play that follows General Macbeth's bloody ascension to the throne by murdering the king, spurred by Marion Cotillard as his ambitious wife Lady Macbeth, truly a serpant under the flower.
Suspicion, paranoia and madness takes its toll on the new king Macbeth, who pushes the country through war, filmed beautifully in the trailer released Tuesday. Of course, for Cotillard's scheming Lady Macbeth, she assures her psychologically traumatized husband and partner: "What's done is done."
"Macbeth" will open on Dec. 4.
