The upcoming "Baywatch" movie has found the perfect actress to step into Pamela Anderson's iconic red swimsuit: Sports Illustrated model Kelly Rohrbach.
Rohrbach is set to play C.J. Parker, the role originated by Anderson in the 1990s "Baywatch" TV series, in the upcoming big screen adaptation, which stars Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Johnson announced Rohrbach's casting in a series of Instagram posts on Monday, with Rohrbach in character as Parker -- and yes, wearing that red suit. The pair also demonstrated "Baywatch"'s signature slo-mo running style while goofing around for the camera.
A pleasure welcoming @kellyrohrbach to our #BAYWATCH family for the iconic role of "CJ Parker". Yes, she's a walking smoke stack but more importantly... she's smart, tough and funny. Just the way we like 'em. Get ready world, we can't wait to bring you our generation's #BAYWATCH! You'll have fun... 👊🏾🔥💯👙🍆 (last emoji somewhat inappropriate).
"Yes, she's a walking smoke stack but more importantly... she's smart, tough and funny," Johnson said of Rohrbach. "Get ready world, we can't wait to bring you our generation's #BAYWATCH!"
Though she's most well-known for her steamy photos in the pages of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, Rohrbach has been transitioning into acting recently with roles on "Two and a Half Men," "Rizzoli and Isles," and a part in an upcoming untitled Woody Allen flick, co-starring Kristen Stewart and Steve Carell.
No word yet on when "Baywatch" is set to hit theaters, though we'll keep an eye on Johnson's Instagram for more updates.
