"The Handmaid's Tale" is the darling of Hulu right now, but that doesn't mean the dystopian drama series is easy to watch.

Even Seth Meyers's "Late Night" and revealed that she has to take breaks between episodes and watch something else.

"I have a really hard time watching it," she said. "I feel very tortured at the end of an episode."

Fortunately, she didn't find filming the adaptation of Margaret Atwood's novel of the same name to be quite so intense. In fact, Bledel couldn't say enough about how much she enjoyed shooting her scenes and working with her cast mates.

"It didn't feel the way it feels to watch it," she told Meyers. "Filming it was an incredible creative experience. It was just so satisfying and lovely."

That is good news, because her role is expanding in the show's sophomore season; Bledel has been promoted to series regular, so we'll be seeing more of her face -- at least the part that isn't covered.

"The Handmaid's Tale" Season 2 is set to premiere in 2018.
