Donald Glover is hosting the May 5 "Saturday Night Live" with Childish Gambino as musical guest.

In related news, Childish Gambino is Donald Glover.

This is going to be good.

Glover is hosting to promote "Solo: A Star Wars Story," which opens May 25, with the actor playing the young Lando Calrissian. He'll also play Simba opposite Beyoncé as Nala in Disney's live-action "The Lion King" movie next year. Some fans still know him best from "Community" and hope SNL includes a "Community" sketch for him, in addition to the obvious "Star Wars" spots.

SNL posted the first promo for Glover's episode, and -- surprisingly -- it focuses on two tricks from other people rather than any Star Wars jokes or riffs on Glover hosting with his alter ego as musical guest.

Yeah, sure, cool jump, Chris Redd. Also, very cool domino stunt. It wasn't Beck Bennett's stunt, though, in case you thought he really did put all of that together himself:

Donald Glover probably doesn't hate dominoes -- right? -- but, if he does, it's possible Childish Gambino likes them.

In case you were wondering, Donald Glover is not the first person to host with his alter ego. He follow the unfortunate path of Garth Brooks and (deep sigh) Chris Gaines in 1999.

Many other stars have done the double act as themselves, including Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Drake, etc.

Watch Donald Glover/Childish Gambino this Saturday, May 5 at 11:29 p.m. on NBC.
