Praise be that someone finally saw this was a bad idea.

"The Handmaid's Tale" Season 2 finale streams today on Hulu. As a bizarre promotion, three wines inspired by the dystopian series were made available yesterday on Lot18.com.

People shared the exclusive news about red wines inspired by Elisabeth Moss' character Offred and Alexis Bledel's Ofglen, with a white wine inspired by Yvonne Strahovski's Serena Joy.

After sharing the (pretty insane) descriptions of each wine, there was an inevitable backlash from people who have actually seen "The Handmaid's Tale." So People updated on Tuesday night:

"After further consideration, Lot18 and MGM have decided to cancel the line of wines inspired by The Handmaid’s Tale."

Yeah.

Here are some of the posts in response to the wines:

You know Aunt Lydia is disappointed that she can't get these wines anymore. She would've been all over them. Serena might've chugged her wine on the sly, too.

"The Handmaid's Tale" Season 2 wraps this week, but stay tuned for Season 3.
