The CW's annual Arrowverse crossover event just got faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive!

Tyler Hoechlin will fly in to reprise his role as Superman, which he originated on "Supergirl." And that show's producers are casting an actress to play Lois Lane, as well.

“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse. This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters,” said "Supergirl" executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner.

Hoechlin will appear on all three nights of the DC Comics crossover, which kicks off with a special screening of "The Flash" on Sunday, Dec. 9, continues with "Arrow" on Dec. 10, and concludes with "Supergirl" on Dec. 11.

This year's crossover also introduces Kate Kane aka Batwoman, a lesbian superhero played by Ruby Rose.
