Netflix is testing a new Instagram-like feed, called "Extras," in its mobile app that shows trailers, photos and alerts for upcoming shows and movies like "Stranger Things."

The test has rolled out to a subset of Netflix app users. The streaming service told Variety, "We are testing a feed of video extras in our mobile app to help fans connect more deeply with the titles they love and discover new ones to watch. These tests typically vary in length of time and by region, and may not become permanent.”

Users in the test group can access the feed by clicking "Extras," as Variety displays in these screenshots:

Like Instagram, videos in the feed play automatically but without sound and photo galleries scroll horizontally. Users can share the content and add the show to their list.

This isn't the first time Netflix has aped Instagram's experience. Last year, the app rolled out vertical video previews that resemble Instagram stories.
