Chiwetel Ejiofor is the latest actor to join Charlize Theron in "The Old Guard" in the tale of several immortal soldiers who are threatened by the existence of a new immortal with extraordinary abilities.

That sounds rather like his role as Mordo in "Doctor Strange," but since this Netflix movie is already filming in the UK, we might be getting it well before "Doctor Strange 2."

Harry Melling ("The Ballad of Buster Scruggs") and Veronica Ngo (who played Paige Tico in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi") have also been cast in the adaptation of the graphic novel series.

They join previously announced cast members KiKi Layne, Marwan Kenzari (Jafar in the live-action"Aladdin"), Matthias Schoenaerts and Luca Marinelli in the movie.

Gina Prince-Bythewood ("Love & Basketball") is directing.

Ejiofor, an Oscar nominee for "12 Years a Slave," is voicing Scar in Disney's remake of "The Lion King."
