There are two sides to every story and to every marriage, and Netflix's "Marriage Story" reveals both.

Noah Baumbach's film, which stars Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver, is described as "an incisive and compassionate portrait of a marriage breaking up and a family staying together."

Netflix released two teasers, told from the two points of view. Driver plays Charlie, an experimental theater director in New York, while Johansson is Nicole, an actress who is moving to L.A. Their breakup is amicable at first but devolves into a heartbreaking and painful divorce that seems them battle over custody of their son.

Laura Dern appears as Nicole's lawyer, while Alan Alda and Ray Liotta provide legal representation for Charlie. Merritt Wever and Julie Hagerty also star.

While there's plenty of drama to mine in the topic of divorce, Baumbach also brings humor (often dark and cutting) to the film.

"Marriage Story" will screen at the Toronto and Venice Film Festivals and open in select theaters before streaming on Netflix this fall.
