Jeff King Biography

Jeff King is an American re-recording mixer at Skywalker Sound. King's work in documentary cinema includes The Bee Gees: How Can You Mend a Broken Heart (2020), a feature-length music documentary centred on Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Robin Gibb. For this project, he shared a Cinema Audio Society Award in 2021 for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for Motion Pictures – Documentary, alongside Gary A.

Rizzo, and also received a Primetime Emmy Award nomination in 2021 for Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Nonfiction or Reality Program, shared with Gary A. Rizzo and John W. Rampey. His documentary credits also include Won't You Be My Neighbor? (2018), the Fred Rogers documentary that earned him a 2019 Cinema Audio Society Award nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing for Motion Pictures – Documentary, shared with Pete Horner.

In addition to documentary mixing, King has contributed to genre and franchise-based projects spanning theatrical, direct-to-video, and broadcast formats. His work on Last Shift (2014) led to a Motion Picture Sound Editors Golden Reel Award nomination in 2016 for Best Sound Editing – Direct-to-Video – Live Action, shared with a large sound editorial team.

He was also nominated for a Golden Reel Award in 2025 for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Broadcast Animation for Lego Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy (2024), specifically Season 1, Episode 2, Part Two, shared with Frank Rinella, Shaun Farley, and Margie O'Malley.
