Nikki Chu Biography
Born and raised in Toronto, Chu embraced her passion for design at a young age and followed her dreams to the International Academy of Design in Toronto, Ontario to learn the tricks of the trade. She soon found herself in Miami as Creative Director for Tinsely Advertising, one of the top 10 leading advertising agencies in Southern Florida. Chu’s innovative mind and distinctive style won her two gold national Addies Awards for the company.
Her portfolio rapidly expanded, and she found herself overseeing interior design projects for Hollywood stars. Now, Nikki is a celebrity interior designer, author, and trendsetter with 20 years of experience. Chu has accomplished a vast range of interior projects, as well as design collaborations with some of the most accredited names and brands in the industry (Moet & Chandon, Home Depot, NFL, Pier One, Pepsi, Disney and XBOX to name a few).
In addition, she has designed projects for Hollywood elites such as; Gabrielle Union, Nick Cannon, Karrueche Tran, Tyra Banks and many more. Nikki is also a lifestyle and design expert for several TV networks such as HGTV, E!, Oxygen, OWN Network, Fine Living, Food Network, and starred in her own makeover show called “UNBOXED with Nikki Chu” on the Aspire network.
Her Modern Globalism brand “Nikki Chu Home” is firmly rooted in interiors, accessories, art, home decor, and accent furniture. During her career, Chu has been awarded several honors for her outstanding accomplishments - Woman of Style, BID Top 20 Interior Designers, Best of Show, design nomination for Best Product Designer and recognized for Best Home Textile line via Villa Home Collections.
