Richard Baker Biography

Richard Baker is a visual effects professional holding dual U.S. and U.K. citizenship, with a career spanning major feature films and television. Early in his career, he worked as a compositor at prestigious studios, including Framestore and Cinesite. He later became a compositing supervisor at MPC in London, contributing to large-scale productions like The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, Clash of the Titans, and 10,000 BC.

Transitioning into stereoscopic work, Baker joined Prime Focus World in London, where he supervised the stereo conversion pipeline for films such as Gravity, World War Z, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and Frankenweenie. His responsibilities included guiding the setup of a division dedicated to stereo conversion, deploying advanced geometry mapping techniques for realistic depth, and overseeing over 900 stereo-converted shots for Edge of Tomorrow.

In more recent years, Richard Baker has held VFX supervision roles on several high-profile projects, particularly within the Netflix ecosystem. He has served as studio or production visual effects supervisor on The Noel Diary, Me Time, A Boy Called Christmas, We Can Be Heroes, Hillbilly Elegy, and Da 5 Bloods. He also served as an additional visual effects supervisor on They Cloned Tyrone and Red One and was the production visual effects supervisor on The Kitchen.
