Plot Summary
Sara (Sandy Dennis), a free-spirited single woman living in Brooklyn, invites a new man to stay with her every month. For Sara, this is an opportunity to expose a man to new things, but it's also a way to make sure she will always be remembered by someone. Her latest boarder is Charlie (Anthony Newley), an uptight British businessman. Things, however, don't go as planned, and the two fall in love. Despite this, Charlie cannot stay any longer than his allotted month.

  • Sara is supposed to be an adorable screwball with a fatal disease. Ms. Theron certainly gets the adorable right. With a comic style that's close to unerring, she not only deserves better than this junk but the very best.

  • This is one of those movies in which there are only two types of people: officious yuppie pricks, and the beautiful folks who stop and smell the daisies. What keeps it (barely) from being completely intolerable is Keanu Reeves' hilariously awful lead performance. show more
