Mowgli: [waking up, sees the elephants] A parade!

Bagheera: Oh no. The Dawn Patrol again.

The Elephants: [Mowgli climbs down the tree] Hup, two, three, four/Keep it up, two, three, four/Hup, two, three, four/Keep it up, two, three, four/Hup, two, three, four.

Colonel Hathi: Company, sound off!

The Elephants: Oh, the aim of our patrol/

Elephant: Is a question rather droll/

The Elephants: [they trumpet with their trunks] For to march and drill over field and hill.

Colonel Hathi: [tapping his trunk with the bamboo stick] Is a military goal!

The Elephants: [Mowgli comes out of the bushes as Colonel Hathi and the other elephants march by; Mowgli sees Hathi, Jr. pass by; Hathi, Jr. trumpets] Is a military goal! Hup, two, three, four/Dress it up, two, three, four/By the ranks or single file/Over every jungle mile /Oh, we stamp and crush through the underbrush/

Hathi, Jr.: In the "miritaly" style!

The Elephants: In the military style!

Mowgli: [to Hathi, Jr.] Hello, what are you doing?

Hathi, Jr.: Shh. Drilling.

Mowgli: [whispering] Can I do it, too?

Hathi, Jr.: Sure! Just do what I do. But don't talk in ranks. It's against "regalations".

Colonel Hathi: To the rear, march!

Hathi, Jr.: [Mowgli turns around] The other way! Turn around!

Colonel Hathi: Hup, two, three, four/Keep it up, two, three, four. To the rear, ho!

Colonel Hathi: Company, halt!

Hathi, Jr.: That means "stop!

Mowgli: [rides on Bagheera's back in the night] : Bagheera, I’m getting a little sleepy. Shouldn't we start back home?

Bagheera: Mowgli, this time, we're not going back. I'm taking you to a Man Village.

Mowgli: But why?

Bagheera: Because Shere Khan has returned to this part of the jungle, and he has sworn to kill you.

Mowgli: Kill me? But why would he wanna do that?

Bagheera: He hates man, and Shere Khan is not going to allow you to grow up to become a man; just another hunter with a gun.

Mowgli: Aw, we'll just explain to him that I'd never do a thing like that.

Bagheera: Nonsense. No one explains anything to Shere Khan.

Mowgli: Well, maybe so, but I'm not afraid. And besides, I-

Bagheera: [interrupts] Now, that's enough. We'll spend the night here. Things will look better in the morning. Man-Cub? Man-Cub! Now, come on. Up this tree. You'll be safer up there.

Mowgli: Uh, I don't wanna go back to the man-village.

Bagheera: Go on. Up you go.

Mowgli: That limb way up there?

Bagheera: [Mowgli tries to climb the tree trunk but can't; he chuckles] That's right. Is that all the better you can climb?

Mowgli: [grunting] It's too big around! And besides, I don't have any claws!

Bagheera: [helps and with some grunting, Mowgli scratches on Bagheera's back. Bagheera yelps, then Mowgli climbs back on Bagheera's back who gets Mowgli on the limb] Now, get some sleep. We've got a long journey ahead us tomorrow.

Mowgli: Uh, I wanna stay in the jungle.

Bagheera: [smirks; yawns and lies down to sleep] Huh? Heh, you wouldn't last one day.

Mowgli: I'm not afraid. I can look after myself.

Kaa: [appears from the leaves, he smacks his lips when noticing Mowgli, looks towards Bagheera to see him sleeping. He then approaches Mowgli; Mowgli looks up unimpressed, scowls at Kaa, and then rudely sticks his tongue out at him; chuckles] Say, now! What have we here? It's the Man-Cub, the delicious Man-Cub.

Mowgli: [angrily pushing Kaa away] Oh, go away and leave me alone.

Bagheera: [sleepily] That's just what I should do, but I'm not. Now, now, now, please go to sleep, Man-Cub!

Kaa: [nods his head in agreement and begins to hypnotize Mowgli; imitating Bagheera's sentence; singing; sings this to the tune from "Rock-a-Bye Baby"; begins to wrap his coils around a hypnotized Mowgli] Yes, Man-Cub. Please go to sleep. Please go to sleep. Sleep, little Man-Cub, rest in peace. Sleep. Sleep.

Mowgli: [moaning; Kaa wraps his tail tightly around Mowgli's throat, choking Mowgli] Bagheera?

Bagheera: [still unaware at what's happening; sleepily] Oh, now, look, there's no use arguing anymore. Now, no more talk till morning.

Kaa: [Kaa now completely has the fully hypnotized and smiling Mowgli wrapped around his coils; chuckles evilly] He won't be here in the morning.

Bagheera: [glances at Mowgli and Kaa; suddenly realizes what is happening and fully wakes up, alarmed; just before Kaa is about to eat Mowgli, Bagheera angrily slaps Kaa's head onto another tree branch, and sends Kaa banging his head on it. This makes Mowgli fully conscious and released from Kaa's coils] Huh? Oh, yes, he will, I- KAA! HOLD IT, KAA!

Kaa: [scowls at Bagheera and moves forward to him] Ohhh, my sinus! You have just made a serious mistake, my friend. A very, stupid mistake!

Bagheera: [nervously stammering] Now, Kaa, I was-

Kaa: [Bagheera looks Kaa in his left eye as Kaa begins to hypnotize him] Look me in the eye when I'm speaking to you.

Bagheera: No, please, Kaa...

Kaa: [Bagheera is now fully hypnotized and smiling; Mowgli pushes Kaa's coils off the branch with his feet; Kaa lands in a heap] Both eyes, if you please. You have just sealed your doom. Ooooh!

Mowgli: [points at Kaa; smacks both of his cheeks] Look, Bagheera! Look. Bagheera! Wake up, Bagheera!

Bagheera: [released from the hypnosis] Huh, wha-?

Kaa: [slithering away, angrily; suddenly stops because a knot on his tail gets stuck between a couple of bamboo stems] Just you wait till I get you in my coils!

Mowgli: [laughs playfully] Bagheera, he's got a knot in his tail.

Kaa: [mocking Mowgli, sarcastically; pulls, and tugs, but frees his tail, that causes his whole body to come together like an accordion, then mad by this, Kaa crawls away now with his bent coils] Hee-hee-hee! He's got a knot in his tail." Ooooh, this is going to slow down my slithering.

Bagheera: [smirks] So, you can look out for yourself, can you? Heh. So, you want to stay in the jungle, do you?

Mowgli: Yes. I wanna stay in the jungle!

Bagheera: [annoyed; angrily snaps and both half-smirks on the right and half-smiles on the left. Mowgli pouts as he tries to get some sleep] D'oh! Now, for the last time, go to sleep! Man-Cub, heh! Man-Cub. Ah.

Bagheera: [first lines; narrates; at the sound of a baby's cries, Bagheera stops at Baby Mowgli's boat; Bagheera looks at this boat with Baby Mowgli; Bagheera turns back on this branch, but hears Baby Mowgli crying again, making him return. He looks down and sees Baby Mowgli, who looks at him playfully; the wolf pups play around their mother Raksha, Bagheera is looking at them from the bushes, Bagheera with Baby Mowgli watches from the bushes as the family of wolves walk into their lair and puts the basket with baby Mowgli right before the entrance. He goes back into the bushes, and waits, but finds out that nothing happens, so he carefully sneaks back over and pushes the basket with his paw. Baby Mowgli cries out in surprise and Bagheera, alarmed by this, runs away. The wolves come out and look at Baby Mowgli, and as Raksha smiles down at him, Baby Mowgli now giggles; Rama comes from the jungle, sniffs suspiciously at the baby Man-Cub, sees the smiling face of Raksha, looks at Baby Mowgli playing with the wolf pups again, and smiles, too, while "My Own Home" starts in the background as the wolves take Baby Mowgli into the wolf lair. Ten years later...; Mowgli howls; Raksha and the four young wolves came out of the cave; Grey Brother and Leah playfully tackle and lick Mowgli; scene switches to Council Rock on the misty, moonlit night, with howling, as the Wolf Pack Elders meet at the council, and having the meeting about changing Mowgli's future of Shere Khan, the Tiger, who returns to their part of the Jungle to kill Mowgli and all of them trying to protect Mowgli] Many strange legends are told of these jungles of India, but none so strange as the story of the small boy named Mowgli. It all began when the silence of the jungle was broken by the unfamiliar sound. It was the sound that had never been heard before in this part of the jungle. It was a Man-Cub! If I had known how deeply I was to be involved, I would have obeyed my first impulse and walked away. This Man-Cub would have to have nourishment, and soon. It was many days travel to the nearest Man Village, and without a mother's care, he would soon perish. Then, it occurred to me. The family of wolves I knew had been blessed with a litter of cubs. I knew there'd be no problem with the mother, thanks to maternal instinct, but I wasn't so sure about Rama, the father. Ten times the rains had come and gone, and I often stopped by to see how Mowgli the Man-Cub was getting along. He was a favorite with all the young wolf cubs of the pack. No Man-Cub was ever happier. And yet...I knew that someday, he would have to go back to his own kind. Then, one night, the Wolf Pack elders met at Council Rock, because Shere Khan, the tiger, had returned to their part of the jungle. This meeting had to change the Man-Cub's entire future.

Akela: [The wolves solemnly nod] Shere Khan will surely kill the boy, and all who try to protect him. Now, are we all in agreement as to what must be done? Now, it is my unpleasant duty to tell the boy's father. Rama. Uh, come over here, please.

Rama: Yes, Akela?

Akela: The Council has reached its decision. The Man-Cub can no longer stay with the pack. He must leave at once.

Rama: [shocked] Leave?

Akela: I'm sorry, Rama. There is no other way.

Rama: But the Man-Cub is- Well, he's like my own son! Surely, he's entitled to the protection of the pack.

Akela: But, Rama, even the strength of the pack is no match for the tiger.

Rama: But the boy cannot survive alone in the jungle.

Bagheera: Akela, perhaps I can be of help.

Akela: You, Bagheera? How?

Bagheera: I know of a Man Village where he'll be safe. Mowgli and I have taken many walks into this jungle together, I'm sure he'll go with me.

Akela: So be it. Now, there's no time to lose. Good night and Good luck.

Kaa: [after Mowgli learns he has been deceived by the snake; slithering away; [w:sacroiliac joint|sacroiliac] If I never see that skinny little shrimp again, it will be too soon. Oh, my ].

Shere Khan: [while Baloo holds his tail] Let go, you big oaf!

Mowgli: [angrily hitting Shere Khan's face with a stick] Take that, ya big bully!

Kaa: You have just made a serious mistake, my friend. A very stupid mistake! Look me in the eye when I'm speaking to you. Both eyes if you please. You have just sealed your doom.

Kaa: Oh, you have no idea. It's simply terrible. I can't eat, I can't sssleep, so I sssing myself to sleep. You know, self-hypnosis. Let me show you how it works...

Kaa: I don't blame you. I'm not like those so-called fair-weather friends of yours. You can believe in me.

Kaa: Just you wait til I get you in my coils!

Kaa: [Giggles] Say now, what have we here? It's a man-cub. A delicious man-cub.

Kaa: [to Bagheera, who is about to be hypnotized by him] Look me in the eye when I'm speaking to you!

Kaa: It's like you said, you can't trust anyone!

Mowgli: [to Kaa] Oh, go away and leave me alone!

Mowgli: [angrily pushes Shere Khan's paw away] You don't scare me! I won't run from anyone!

Mowgli: You told me a lie, Kaa. You said I could trust you.

Mowgli: [to King Louie] But I dunno how to make fire.

Mowgli: [Responding to Bagheera] Yes, I wanna stay in the jungle.

Mowgli: [repeated line] Yeah, man!

Bagheera: [laughing] Is that all the better you can climb?

Bagheera: WHY, YOU BIG FRAUD! You four-flusher! I am fed up!

Bagheera: Now, come on! Up this tree. You'll be safer up there.

Bagheera: Oh, no! It's Baloo! That shiftless, stupid jungle bum!

Bagheera: Pawpaw".... Ha! Of all the silly gibberish.

Baloo: BAGHEERA!!! Oh, you heard me, huh?

Baloo: [repeated line] You better believe it!

Baloo: [Playfully slaps Mowgli on the bottom which sends him rolling into a log and leaves him knocked out on the ground.] He's a dandy!

Baloo: [furiously] Are you outta your mind?! I promised him that he could stay here in the jungle with me!

Baloo: [yanks a pouty Bagheera's tail as he smirks] Come on, Baggy! Get with the beat!

Baloo: [as he and Mowgli float down a river] Lemme tell you some'm, Li'l Britches: if you act like that bee acts, uh-uh. You're workin too hard. And don't spend your time just lookin around.... for something you want that can't be found.

Baloo: [after Mowgli climbs on Baloo's butt and tickles him with his feet] No. No, no. No, no. Now, you're tickling.

Baloo: [after Bagheera asks him how does he think Mowgli will survive] How do you think he will..." What do you mean, "how do you think he..."? He's with me, ain't he? And I'll learn im all I know.

Baloo: [after Bagheera tells Baloo that he is taking Mowgli back to the Man Village] Man Village? They'll ruin im! They'll make a man out of im!
