Twice the Mark Ruffalo? Yes, please. The three-time Oscar nominee has signed on to star as twin brothers in the HBO miniseries "I Know This Much Is True."

It's based on the bestselling 1998 novel by Wally Lamb about the parallel lives of identical twin brothers, one of whom is a paranoid schizophrenic. Get an Emmy (or two) ready

It's an "epic story of betrayal, sacrifice, and forgiveness set against the backdrop of 20th-century America," according to the HBO press release.

Ruffalo will also executive produce the series.

Derek Cianfrance ("Blue Valentine," "The Place Beyond the Pines") will write and direct the six-episode limited series. It doesn't yet have a release date

This will be Ruffalo's first TV project since 2014's HBO movie "The Normal Heart," which netted him both Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.

And (trivia) he starred in the short-lived UPN drama "The Beat" in 2000.
