Don't count Michelle Rodriguez out for future Fast and Furious flicks yet.

Although the actress has expressed concerns in the past regarding the role of women in the action franchise, she isn't ruling out a return. In fact, she sounds pretty convinced that she'll reprise her role as Letty Ortiz in "Fast 9." During a recent THR interview, she said that producer and co-star Vin Diesel will likely get her to appear in the upcoming film.

"I'm sure he'll convince me," she said.

Rodriguez does want to see her concerns addressed, though. Specifically, she wants the franchise's female characters to be better fleshed out.

"We always see the guys talking, we know what they're thinking and we know their relationships, but I can count with one hand in eight movies how many times the women talk to each other," she told THR. "So it's, 'Who are they, what are they about, and do you care?'"

Those comments build on what she said in a June Instagram post calling for more "love to the women of the franchise." Diesel seemed to hear her message, writing in a post shortly thereafter, "We must try to reach higher each time." He also shared a video in which Rodriguez called him "the biggest supporter of strong women."

Rodriguez seems confident that Diesel understands where she is coming from and, like her, feels a responsibility to use the franchise's power for good. We look forward to seeing how they make the most of it when "Fast 9" opens on April 19, 2019.
