Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper on "Riverdale," has just signed on to a new project set in high school.

She'll star in and produce Amazon Studios' "Chemical Hearts,”  based on the coming-of-age novel "Our Chemical Hearts" by Krystal Sutherland.

It's the story of  17-year-old Henry Page,  who has never been in love until he meets transfer student Grace Town (Reinhart). No one has yet been announced to play Henry, although filming is reportedly already underway in New Jersey.

The production team is working with RespectAbility, a nonprofit group that works on ensuring the accurate portrayal of characters with disabilities, since Reinhart’s character walks a cane.

Richard Tanne ("Southside With You") wrote the screenplay and is directing.
