'UnREAL' Canceled, But Final Season 4 Just Surprise-Dropped on Hulu
Good news and bad news.
Bad news first: Lifetime is ending "UnREAL" after Season 4.
Good news: Season 4 is already streaming on Hulu, not quite three months after Season 3 finished airing.
You may recall reading a few months ago about that deal between Lifetime and Hulu, where Hulu would get Season 4 first, before it aired on Lifetime. At the time, it was unclear whether Season 4 would be the final season of shenanigans for Shiri Appleby (Rachel) and Constance Zimmer (Quinn).
Now we know. This is it.
The cast and creators actually seem happy with the whole situation, since they love the idea of fans getting all of Season 4 so quickly.
Here's what creator Sarah Gertrude Shapiro told Variety:
"We’re so excited that people are getting it all at once because it’s always felt like that kind of show to me. And when you get to the point where you feel like you absolutely can’t stand Rachel, you know there’s another turn coming, and it’s coming right away. Bingeing feels like the truth to me right now, and I’m really happy to [tell the story] this way."
Congrats, then.
Watch "The Bachelor" - er - "Everlasting" drama right now on Hulu. No premiere date has been set yet for "unREAL" Season 4 on Lifetime.
