Call this cowpoke comedy "Blazing Saddles" for millennials. Or just call it icky. show more

    Mick LaSalle San Francisco Chronicle

An inventive and caustic comedy that really does look like the thing it's mocking. show more

    Claudia Puig USA Today

Like "Blazing Saddles", A Million Ways to Die in the West has a slew of comic set-ups and one-liners that kill. And, as with Mel Brooks' classic 1974 film, it steps unabashedly into vulgar terrain. show more

    Joe Morgenstern Wall Street Journal

Some of it sputters, settling for smiles instead of laughs, and much of it flounders while the slapdash script searches, at exhausting length, for ever more common denominators in toilet humor. show more

    Steven Rea Philadelphia Inquirer

This movie feels like it has a million jokes, and every single one arrives with a lethal thud. show more

Elizabeth Weitzman New York Daily News

In the end, Albert’s biggest problem isn’t the threat of coyotes or cholera. It’s that he’s being played by the wrong guy. show more

    John DeFore The Hollywood Reporter

Stocking the supporting cast with top-drawer talent, he gives most of his costars little to do besides attract our attention on movie posters. show more

    Kate Erbland

A relentlessly unfunny, charmless send-up of better films with better ideas. show more

    Alonso Duralde TheWrap

The moments of absurdity land with a wonderfully weird grace, while the desperately vulgar gags about sex and scatology echo and crash as though they were being uttered in a middle-school boys’ restroom. show more

    Kyle Smith New York Post

I laughed more at Seth MacFarlane’s sendup of ’60s Westerns than I did at all the other comedies I’ve seen this year, combined. show more

I'm an over 70 year old mom and grandmom, and one time huge fan of Blazing Saddles. Although some of the bits were over the top raunchy, the humor and political satire were very, very funny. Some slow parts, but giggles throughout. Much more clever and sophisticated than other reviews would leed you to believe.

I loved Ted so, I thought I'd give this one a try. It wasn't funny, it was just plain stupid. I'd guess that if I were a 16 year-old teenager I may have found it to be funny...don't waste your money!

I won't even give this movie a rating. I wanted my money back, that's how bad it is.

Viewers beware. While Seth MacFarlane delivers A Million Ways to Die in the West, the movie does make full use of its R rating, delivering clever devised wit alongside stupid humor.

yea it's raunchy, but funny. I agree that it is the modern version of blazing saddles. a young family movie,no. Most adults yes. I mean just looking at Charlize Theron is enough to get you to see it again.

The movie was worse than awful. Full of scatological comments and rude, crude references to principally female genitalia and sex acts. Although a comedy, I didn't laugh once.
